The 2009 Select PINNACLE Series was the 2nd series released in 2009, released mid year, and features the common set of cards, a different selection of payers used in the first series of that year.

Chase cards include the Liam Picken Rookie Sensation, Ayce Cordy Draft Pick Signature, Adam Cooney Brownlow Medal card, a double trouble card featuring Brad Johnson & Ryan Griffen , a Premiership Predictor card and 2 All Australian cards featuring Adam Cooney & Dale Morris.

The 2009 Select CHAMPIONS series is the first of 2 series for 2009 released by Select, the 2nd series featuring different players and released mid year.

Ths series features the common set of cards and an offset featuring the same players, with an action shot on a guensey, this being called the Guernsey Die Cut set.

The chase cards include 4 signature cards [Mitch Hahn not pictured here], an Ayce Cordy Draft Rookie card, 2 gem cards as well as a Superstar Gem card featuring a characture of Adam Cooney.

2008 Select CLASSIC [Standard & Hologram]

The 2008 Select CLASSIC Series was the second set released that year, featuring a different set of players from the first, this series also feature a hologram set of cards featuring the same photo, the Victoria vs Dream Team game mid season was also highlighted with the players from each side in a special off set, the Dogs players including Robert Murphy [Vic], Adam Cooney [DT] & Ryan Griffen [DT].

The Premiership Predictor card could also be sent back to Select once you collected the set, and returned was a special Rookie Card, one from each club, and feature players taken in the second round of the draft the year before, and are very hard to come by, the Bulldogs featuring Callan Ward, this his only Draft card, and first official footy card.

This was the second series of Select cards in 2003, the first being the "XL" series, this followed mid year with a new selection of players, and the Ultra added to the name.

Here are the full 9 player common cards plus Bulldogs checklist, as well as some of the chase cards, the 3 Rising Star cards, the Brad Johnson B&F and Leigh Matthews Medal card in which was awarded to Luke Darcy as well as Michael Voss from Brisbane.

Also featured is the Premiership predictor card, the winning teams card can be sent away to collect a special limited edition set of Redemption cards.

The HALL OF FAME Series features the legends of the game, players are inducted into the Hall Of Fame each year, as well as legends, Select has released a superb collection featuring all Hall Of Fame inductees over the years and release the top up's each year with that years Select release.

2003 Select XL Series

The 2003 XL Series features the regular Bulldogs set with team mascot card, there are now alot of chase cards to collect, some hard to get, others extremely hard to collect depending on how many of each card were printed, the Draft Pick Signature cards would fetch somewhere between $40 - $120 depending on the player, best & fairests & All Australians were also released, as well as a Premiership Predictor card.

The 3 All Australian cards include Brad Johnson, Luke Darcy & Nathan Brown.

The Team Coach series was produced to target the kids, the Select cards were always more expensive to collect, although they are very collectable, especially the silver, gold & blue platinum sets, usually had different shots of the same players, and harder to find.

Footscray Weg Posters

Bill Green, also known as WEG, has produced hundreds of footy posters, featuring the VFL/AFL Premiership side, this being released on the Monday after the Grand Final.

his very first drawing was the 1954 Footscray Premiership poster, as featured above, and to this day, has made one up for each Premier.

Weg has also gone back & made up older copies, to make up for the older teams, also made second poster featuring one of the players, thus releasing the Jack Collins '54 poster.

He has also released certain few Night Premiers, featuring the 1963 Night Premiers "Footscray" which feature Ruckman John Schultz.

Back in 2004, Weg drew up a special collectable poster featuring Charlie Sutton holding up the Premiership Cup, and the day featured most living players being presented the cup before the Bulldogs v Melbourne game, posters were $2 each on the day.

Bill has now covered all Brownlow Medallists with his magic, and feature 9 Footscray Brownlow Medallists, they include Allan Hopkins, Peter Box, Norm Ware, John Schultz, Gary Dempsey, Kelvin Templeton, Brad Hardie, Tony Liberatore & Scott Wynd, perhaps he should also make one up for Chris Grant who polled the most votes in 1997.

This is the very first of the Select Series, taking over Scanlens / Stimorol as the number one AFL/VFL collector card series.

We have now moved into the modern age, from now on, you will see a dramatic change with these footy cards, featuring pictures on both sides, a more detailed description on the back, chase cards which are printed off with a limited number, beeing harder to find, therefor demand a higher price than the normal stock standard common cards.

Over the next few seasons, you will see Draft selection cards, Premiership redemption cards, Best & Fairests, Captains cards as well as Rising Stars.

This series from 1993 features 192 common cards, 13 Footscrays cards feature with one of those an emblem card.

BULLDOGS BREAK THE ICE!

It was back in 1954, in front of a crowd of 80,897 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground [MCG], the crowd was so large for the times, they even overflowed onto the arena, sitting between the fence & boundary line.

This was to be the Footscray Football Clubs 10th Premiership, but 1st in the big league, the VFL [now AFL], and with a 7 goals and a best on field performance from Full Forward Jack Collins.

The Scraggers got home comfortably by defeating Melbourne [The Demons] by 51 points, final score of 15.12.102 to 7.9.51.

To celebrate, years later, this set of cards were produced in honor of that great victory.
